Pacasmayo, Peru- The magical point of Pacasmayo pulled through with classic left had point breaks this week giving the Awt Competitors some pretty epic conditions.
Ezzy riders Kevin Pritchard, Russell Faurot, and Ruben Lemmens all took to the water on their Elites loving the classic point break. The pro division saw Camille Juban take the top spot with Kevin Pritchard taking third and Russell Faurot in 9th. Ruben Lemmens took to the water in the amateur class slashing the point to pieces.
Pritchard also got entered in his first ever masters event and came out with a victory. “The event down here is amazing. It reminds so much of my favorite place on earth, Punta San Carlos, but the opposite tack. The wave is as perfect, the wind direction is side offshore and the water conditions are just incredible. It’s raw beauty, in the landscape is amazing. The vibe, the feeling, it is just so nice to be here once again” said Kevin.
“I made it through my first port tack heat,” exclaimed Russell. “It was pretty fun out there. I had my 4.7 Elite tuned up perfectly, the spot really seemed to work well with my sails and it was just a joy to sail out there. I felt like every wave that I rode I learned something new about wave riding. It was definitely worth the trek from Maui.”
“This is my first time ever riding a wave in this direction. I think the waves at Pacasmayo are perfect for learning, and to watch the pros, show me how to rip it up, was impressive. Camille was really pushing it with his port tack waveriding, so it was really cool to watch.” said Ruben.
