Winter windsurfing season has started here.
“After September, October and November had seen only a few good wave sailing days (as usual) but with some really good surfing, winter conditions have started now with some excellent cross off shore riding at our famous winter spots Majanicho, Lobos and La Caleta. All of which are world class point breaks.
Yesterday we had an excellent day cross off riding @ La Caleta on the North Shore. A world class point break which is actually pretty user friendly. Where you launch, there are no waves and if you crash, you just get washed into the channel. I saw one older guy with a hat on riding logo high waves. Forecasted was 12-13 knots but for a while it was 20knots dropping off later to 15 knots. About 15° cross off with a 2m WNW 15 second swell. Sailed 5.0 on an 88L board. And it looks like we are going to get some more this week.
See pictures attached or here for more also overview pictures of the set up.”
