Winter has arrived on Maui in full force. This past week we had our first big swell of the year with 20-30′ waves. Most places were closed out and it was very stormy. Today is looking a little better with the swell backing off and a little better wind direction. The forecast looks great so we should get some good action in the coming days. Stay tuned!
The first week of October, I went to Punta San Carlos for some excellent wave sailing in Baja. Unfortunately, I had a minor injury which kept me from attacking the waves the way I wanted to. I was still able to sail, but I could not use the back foot strap. In the first picture I decided to use no foot straps and just body drag along the wave face.
Here we had some down time playing cards at Solosports Camp. In the shot, myself Pete Dekay, Rodney, and Sam Bittner.
