After Marsa Alam, Egypt in March I moved on to Magical Moulay, Morocco, in May for a wavesailing coaching clinic, as part of my worldwide windsurf coaching clinic tour. The spot is amazing and super consistent due to waves being set over reef covered with sand.
With the variety of conditions on offer we could go SUPing and surfing in the lighter winds, work on jumping on the low tide sessions and on the bigger wave days fully dial on the riding over mid to high tide. There are plenty of peaks all along the break so you can find your zone and just rip it up. However, the waves over the shallowe reef really bowl up nice for some super smooth riding, no matter how windy. The prevailing wind is sideshore so you can both jump and ride : )
The crew over both weeks fully went for it, in riding both with and without sails, and certainly upped their wave knowledge too. Understanding where to catch the waves and how best to ride them and of course how to jump higher on the way out and get some rotations too.
Next up for me was Reliable Rhodes in June and I am fortunate to be heading to the Perfection of Punta San Carlos, Baja, Mexico next for another wavesailing clinic and with another band of merry rippers ..
