You donation is needed to help two of our key retailers stay in business.
If you have ever been to the Outer Banks, then you’ve most likely stepped into Ocean Air and Fox Watersports. Both shops have been fixtures in the windsurfing industry for quite some time, offering great inventory, knowledge, repair, rentals, and sound advice.
Unfortunately Hurircane Irene has damaged all access to the region and both stores are essentially shut down. This is particularly painful as the fall is when windsurfing tourism is peaking.
What does this mean?
We might not have the luxury of waltzing into the local shops next time you go on a windsurfing trip to Hatteras.
Why are these shops valuable?
1. 1. these guys are knowledgeable about the products they stock and sell and can help you make wise equipment purchases. They stock the latest and greatest gear.
2. 2. The shops can help you with exchanges, returns, rigging and tuning assistance, warranty issues.
3. 3. Both of these shops have offered wise advice with local weather and sailing conditions. Daily they advise people on where to go to get the most out of their vacation.
4. 4. Repair, instruction and lessons? Where else are you going to go if you ding your board, need help with a waterstart, or need that tiny mast base nut that you lost?
I could go on all day here folks. Windsurfing needs retailers to stay alive. Hatteras is one of the top destinations in the world. It is a mecca for entry level sailing right up to hard core wave sailing. We need to help them!
I urge you to help with a financial contribution. Anything is appreciated.
Please help.
